My fascination with sewing continues, as I scour blogs for tutorials I can fake my way through. One of the easiest I've found is the perfect gift for the DSLR photog in your life. I whipped up TWO of these patchwork camera strap covers for two of my favourite photogs, Sonya and Heather. It took me less than an hour, with two little monkeys "helping", so you know that's a good tutorial. Someday, I'll get around to making one for myself! (I'll be adding a lens cap pocked to mine, though-- I'm constantly misplacing it!)
We had a wonderful girls' lunch just before I left for Mexico, and I gave out all my handmade gifts: Sonya with her camera strap cover, Sarah with her green and white stripe cashmere hip warmer, and Nimali with the wool/cashmere hat and mittens. (Forgive the terrible iphone photo.)
I think handmade gifts are so special-- and my besties appreciate the time and effort that goes into such things. They are the best group of girls. I'm so lucky to have them. *sniff*
(FYI - see more projects I'm dying to try here.)
Note: I am scrapping, but most of it is for assignments-- but I'll share as soon as I can!
