... I scanned two pages from the September issue of Chatelaine magazine to show off the adorable little girl's room in "Strawberry Shortcake" by Benjamin Moore:
Isn't that pretty? While the headboard and bench are dreamy, they are a little ornate for my little ruffians. There is waiscotting in their room, so I think I will paint below the chair rail white or very light, light pink, then paint above the chair rail this vivid pink. That way it won't be overwhelming. I want something bright and saturated, and Audrey just looooooves pink.
I also loved how they spruced up this old dresser:
I have a similar old desk that I was going to put out to pasture-- but seeing this makes me think I should paint it white and re-purpose it as a sewing desk.
As for the reno-- it is currently at a standstill. Suffice it to say, we no longer have a contractor, and we have to find someone who is a) available and b) reasonably priced to do all the finishing work. At this late date neither are easy to find. It's a bummer not to have it totally done, but focusing on these little decorating projects makes the wait easier. As I wrote a while back, I am trying to spruce up the decor in our house for next to nothing. There will be much repurposing, refinishing, and rearranging to create a whole new space. And probably a trip to IKEA. Stay tuned.
Love that pink and that dresser is very pretty. Wish I had the guts to buy an old piece of furniture and refinish it. I am afraid I would just mess it up. Good luck on your projects.

Yes, yes, YES! Paint your old dresser white! Oh, and I "need" to make a trip to IKEA sometime soon too. I am "needing" and expedit shelf for my craft area. LOL!!!! We could shop and dream together. Oh, and yes, I would totally be up for scrapbooking sometime next week :) Just let me know when...
